From Old Table to Kids Table
Do any of you have an old table lying around that you don't know what to do with it? Maybe something like this...
Well my parents had something similar that they wanted a makeover. But not just any makeover. They were wanting something a little more fun I guess we could say.

Well my parents had something similar that they wanted a makeover. But not just any makeover. They were wanting something a little more fun I guess we could say.
The supplies that we will need are:
- Sand Paper
- Paint Brushes
- Paint - we ended up using the Behr Alkyd on this project
- Minwax Water Based Polycrylic Finish
First things first we wiped down the table and cleaned it off. Then we sanded it just enough so the paint would stick real well. We then started to paint. With our table we decided to paint the legs black. So we started with that. We ended up putting three coats of paint on. Then we painted the table top white. We ended up putting four coats of white paint on that. Then came the "fun" part of the table. If you knew my family you would know that we have a love for baseball. Growing up our camping was being at the ball field all weekend long. So on that note, we took some red paint and made lines on the table that look like the stitching of a baseball. Then just to play it safe since we knew that people/kids would be writing and playing on this table, we painted the top of the table with the Minwax Water Based Polycrylic Finish. Here is that finished product.
It turned out better then I expected to be honest. How fun would this be to go in a playroom. You could even change it up if you are a basketball or football or any sport family really. So even if you don't have an old table lying around the house and you wanted to do this for your kids, remember to keep your eye out for garage/yard sales. There is always someone selling an old table like this.
